Web21 nov 2016 · I have an 2003 TJ, the 2.4l - 4 cylinder and am having problems with a rough idle and stalls when RPMs come down quickly. Here is what happened: I was having no idle/stalling problems prior to this. Driving down the road I have a idler puller lock up and the serp belt burns up. Lose power steering the whole bit.

It has had its moments where it was hard to engage low range, but never popped out. I'd bet you just didn't quite get it in there well.
