He built an advance curve to my engine's specs and provides all replacement part numbers and coil recommendations in his documentation. I'm using a Napa coil that looks like a stocker. It just seems that it would be better to either use a stock dist and install one of the electronic conversions that are available which work great, OR, have Dave Ray convert the stock dist to a small body HEI. I have a SB400 in the 70 with the stock dist and a PerTronix unit.

I am currently happy with my Crane points eliminator but it wouldn't last forever either. Mine is the original one made by the Crane company before they went belly up and is in a rebuilt dizzy.:bowtier: WebbThe HEI module generates a lot of heat that must be dissipated in order for the module to have long life. The large cap HEI distributors just used the distributor body as the heat sink. The PN 10474610 heat sink was used on later computer-controlled ignition systems but will work with the 4-pin module when modified with some new holes.

Some have run them for several years. I have one too, but not installed yet. If you break down on the road, you can find replacement parts at almost any auto parts store. But in either case, both Pertronics and Dave Ray's setups convert a standard breaker point distributor to an HEI setup.
